Here's Our Story

This is a direct appeal to all the good and decent people
who may take the time to read this.

The People of the Shawnee Nation, United Remnant Band seriously need your help.
Thirteen years ago in 1995, we purchased our Tribal business called Zane Shawnee Caverns and Campground. This small, seasonal business is a fun, family-oriented piece of paradise (97 acres) where we share our rich Native American heritage and culture through educational programs and entertainment. This acreage is the only American Indian owned and operated land/business in the state of Ohio. Financially, winter has always been our slow season, but with the declining economy this year, everything we have worked for is at stake. This piece of our traditional Shawnee homeland, that we had to buy back from the Americans, is in jeopardy of being taken away once again. It would be devastating to lose this special land. On this Indian-owned property there are graves of our ancient ancestors as well as graves of our people who have recently passed. Our traditional Great House (Shawnee Church) and our sacred ceremonial grounds where we practice our ancient and traditional ceremonies are located here. Our very unique and special Shawnee Woodland Native American Museum, home to thousands of artifacts and Indian art is on this land. Four of our tribal families also live here.
We have not missed a bank payment in over three years. Shawnee people are a proud people; we are not beggars nor are we lazy. We are doing everything we can to make it through this long winter. But WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please help us make it through this winter by making a Tax-Deductible donation to the Shawnee Nation, United Remnant Band (501-C3 Non-Profit). Even if your donation is just one dollar, it would at least tell us that someone cares. To make a donation, please click on the Pay-Pal button at the bottom of this Blog. When you fill out the Pay-Pal form, don‘t forget to print your tax-deductible receipt for tax purposes. If you are not comfortable with a monetary donation, we invite you to visit our Ebay store where you may purchase top-quality leather, leather goods, and other Native American-made crafts. http://stores.ebay.com/Shawnee-Nation-URB If you would like more information about the United Remnant Band Shawnee of Ohio, please visit our official Tribal website: http://zaneshawneecaverns.net/
